COLONY Update: December 2025

Hello, everyone! Merry Christmas, happy New Year, and happy holidays to those who celebrate - we hope this month has found you well. December has been a busy time for all of us here at Hex, so this month’s newsletter might be a little shorter than usual, but we still have a few things to share.

State of the Game

Work continues on the Adventure Demo, though we’re not quite ready to commit to a specific release date. As part of this process, Muir has been working on a refreshed version of the character sheet; during development, we realized that depending on their race and Caste, some Champions might have more Caste Instincts than the previous sheet allowed for, so Muir has preemptively made some room to accommodate them. Hahli has also started on a balance pass for some of the cards; although we haven’t run into any showstopper issues with the cards in the Arena Demo, it never hurts to do a little preventative maintenance, especially for the more powerful cards you may see in the future.

In this month’s poll, our patrons selected Ro (butterflies) as an additional playable race in the patron-exclusive version of the Adventure Demo! Song of Origins

As you can see in this month’s image, Charles is making progress on the art for Movement 7 of the Song of Origins. Nash has also finished the initial musical composition for Movement 7, and Muir has been working on arrangements as his time permits.
